Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a video tour of our entry. I shared a glimpse of it recently in my home tour post, but today you’ll get a closer look at everything we did to update our entry during our home renovation.
We don’t have a huge entry. It’s basically a wide hallway that leads to our living room. Here’s a rough sketch I did of the floor plan of our home, so you can get an idea of how the house is laid out.
Here’s what our entry looked like when coming in the front door before our home renovation.
This is the entry before looking back toward the front door. All of the trim and railing were orange oak, and also the cabinet that we have on the corner wall.
We had ceramic tile that was already in the house when we bought it. We’re the only owners of the house, but we got in on the building of it after a lot of the choices were already made by the builder. The ceramic tile is not what we would have picked, but at least it was very neutral!
Right next to the front door is a coat closet. The coat closet door was also painted white, and last year I shared this picture of what it looked like before I organized it. More about that coming up soon!
I’ve created a video to share what our entry looks like now. I always like seeing a video tour of spaces. Sometimes a video tour seems to show the details of a room better than still pictures.
Here are some after pictures.
The address sign I made is hanging on the wall to the left of the front door. It has all of the addresses of where we’ve lived on it, and one of my favorite quotes – “Home is the nicest word there is.” (Laura Ingalls Wilder)
Looking back towards the front door. We have a new front door and side panel, and we painted all of the doors and trim white.
I love the cabinet that I painted green! It fits perfectly on the angled corner.
It was a big job, but we also painted the orange oak railing.
The ceramic floor in the entry was replaced with the wood floors. They’re birch, and I love the medium brown color.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of our entry, and the updates we’ve made to it!
I’ll be sharing more about how I organized our coat closet, painted the green cabinet and the railing.
I’m sharing here:

Wow! That’s a stunning transformation. Not only are you very talented in home decor sewing, but you’re also very skilled in interior design. Your pictures will be a source of inspiration as we work on updating our new home. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Angela! It’s good to hear from you!
