I think I was born to live at the beach. I love everything about it. The ocean, sand, seashells and the sound of the waves. I also love coastal decor. I dream of living at the beach someday, and decorating my house in a beachy style.
When my husband and I go to the beach on vacation in Florida, we love to go to open houses. Not to buy now, but to dream for the future.
Recently while on vacation and walking back from lunch, we stumbled upon an open house. It was a townhouse, and was so adorable on the inside! The husband and wife greeted us at the door, and gave us the full tour. They are house flippers, and you can tell they love their work!
I got so excited when I saw the inside of the house, that I asked if I could take pictures for this blog post and they graciously agreed. I loved everything about the house!
As you walk in the front door, the stairs to go upstairs are in front of you. Here’s the living room and kitchen from the front door. The floors are ceramic tiles, which look like real wood. So practical for beach living!
The living room from the kitchen. This area was very bright and open. They took down a wall that was originally between the living room and kitchen.
The owners have added the fireplace in the living room and the built ins around it. So cute! You can see the front door on the right.
The kitchen was bright and open too. I loved all of the white and pops of blue.
The backsplash was very beachy and unique!
There was a lot of storage in the kitchen and a nice pantry.
The dining room was in the back of the house.
There’s also a patio door in the dining room, so it’s a nice, bright area.
There’s a half bath on the first floor. I love the blue beadboard on the walls!
Upstairs there’s an adorable coffee station in the hallway.
There’s also two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is the master bedroom, and has an attached master bath that the owners added. I loved the vanity in the master bathroom!
The shower in the master bathroom was tiled so nicely.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get very good pictures of the two upstairs bedrooms and hall bath.
There was a basement area that used to be a 3 car garage. They turned two of the car stalls into living space. There’s still a one car attached garage.
This is the family room in the basement.
There’s another full bath in the basement, and also a laundry room closet. I love how they camouflaged the electric panel in the basement hallway by turning the door into a chalk board!
My favorite room in the house was the bedroom in the basement. The bunks sign on the wall in the doorway gives you a hint at what’s inside.
The bedroom is not large, but the owners have made it very functional with bunk beds on either side of the room.
The blue beadwork is perfect! I love the lights for each of the bunk beds. What a cozy place to read a book!
My favorite part was the adorable stairs they built in between the sets of bunkbeds. There’s another step in the center that goes to the landing that I didn’t get in the picture. I know this room is going to be a favorite of someone’s children or grandchildren!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour of this beach house with it’s adorable coastal decor! If you’re interested in getting more info or seeing more pictures, here’s where to find that info.
What city is the home located it? Beautiful!
Kristie, it’s in the Daytona area. You can find out more info by looking at the For Sale sign that I took a picture of.
Jann, this place was so well planned out, very clever. I love the MBR vanity as well, always wanted to do something like that and do those transfers. Maybe someday.
The backsplash in the kitchen was also very clever. Sure makes you want to move in.
Thanks for sharing the photos.
*DREAM*
Kathleen, yes, they planned out the home very well. They incorporated so many great ideas! The backsplash is the wife’s signature piece. I guess she does a version of this backsplash in all of the homes they flip.
