Hi everyone! This week I’m excited to be participating in a Craftsy instructor blog hop! Some of the other Craftsy instructors and I are sharing some details about our classes. This is a great opportunity for you to get a closer look at some of the great Craftsy classes, and each of us instructors are giving away a FREE class! Just visit each of the blogs listed below to learn more about each class, and enter to win!
My class is all about one of my favorite types of sewing projects – pillows! In Custom Bedding – Decorative Shams & Bolsters you’ll learn how to make three different types of bedding pillows. Each pillow is has custom details that make them truly unique – these are not your typical ready-made bed pillows!
Euro Sham –
The first pillow you’ll learn how to make is a euro sham with a knife-pleat ruffle. This type of ruffle is one of my favorite details for a pillow. It’s a little more structured than a gathered ruffle, and I’ll show you step-by-step in the class how to make it.
Flanged Sham –
The second pillow in the class is a flanged sham. Have you ever bought a flanged pillow sham at the store, and have been disappointed with how floppy the flange is? Well, you’ll learn how to solve that problem in this lesson. I’ll also show you how to make the mitered corners for the flange, make the cording to go around the center insert and how to insert a zipper.
Bolster Pillow –
The last pillow in the class is the bolster pillow. This is a great type of pillow to place in front of your other bedding pillows. In this lesson, I’ll show you neat trick for how to tuft the buttons on each end of the pillow without having to use a long needle.
These are just a few of the many things you’ll learn in this class! With the Craftsy platform, you can watch the lessons over and over, and I’ll always be available to answer any of your questions.
