I’ve had to keep a big secret for the last few months, and I’m so excited to finally get to share it with you! Last August I was honored to be asked to be a Craftsy instructor! The class that I filmed (Custom Bedding – Decorative Shams & Bolsters) is coming out later this month!
You all know that I love Craftsy! I’ve written about them many times here on my site. They have wonderful on-line classes in many crafty subjects – like sewing, crocheting, cooking, photography and many more categories. So, I was thrilled (and a little nervous) when they asked me to film a class. I’m so glad I did it, even though I had to step out of my comfort zone.
The class is named Custom Bedding – Decorative Shams and Bolsters. My favorite things to sew – pillows!
I had a lot of work to do before the filming could begin, but Linda (the Acquisitions Editor) and Stephanie (the Producer) walked me through the whole process from making the class outline to prepping me for filming. We had numerous phone meetings and Google hangouts for a couple of months!
I can’t say enough good things about everyone I met at Craftsy. It was a wonderful company to work with, and I hope I get the chance to work with them again!
Last October I flew out to Denver to film the class. It was very exciting to see the studio where filming took place.
I even had a dressing room with my name on the door!
The days of filming were very long. Lots of cameras, lights, takes and re-takes, but the Craftsy staff who were in the studio with me were very patient and really tried to make me feel more comfortable. They were very fun to work with!
After I came home, Craftsy was busy editing the class, and now it’s ready to launch! In this class, Custom Bedding – Decorative Shams and Bolsters, I’ll be walking you through three types of bedding pillows. You’ll learn several techniques that you can apply to lots of other sewing projects.
Like all of the Craftsy classes – this class all on-line, so you can watch it at your own pace, and as many times as you’d like. You’ll have it forever. With the wonderful craftsy platform, you can ask questions during the class, and I’ll be available to answer them.
I’m also hoping that you’ll share your finished projects. There’s a place to do that in the class. I would love to see the pillows that all of you make!
