In the next couple of weeks I’m going to share with all of you the three pillows that I made for my Craftsy class! I’ll give you a little sneak peak of some of the techniques you’ll learn in Custom Bedding – Decorative Shams and Bolsters. This class is jam packed with tips and techniques for making bedding pillows.
Today we’re going to talk about the first pillow in the class – the Euro sham.
If you’ve missed the other two pillows from the class, you can find them here:
Before we get started, I wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and support of my Craftsy class. I really appreciate it!
Craftsy Class Pillow # 1 – Euro Sham
This first pillow, the euro sham, makes a nice backdrop for the rest of the pillows on the bed. Especially if you don’t have a headboard.
I love decorative details on pillows, and you’re going to learn several in this class. This Euro sham has a knife-pleat ruffle detail that is one of my favorites. It’s a nice, crisp ruffle.
A lot of times you don’t see much of the fabric on a euro sham if it’s behind other pillows, so it’s nice to be able to add a detail like this ruffle to show off the edges of the pillow.
You’ll also learn why it’s called a Euro sham, tips for cutting out pillows, and how to close the pillow to finish it off.
Here’s a short promo video that Craftsy made for my class:
