Recently, I began experimenting with different smoothie recipes. I was trying to find one that would satisfy my craving for something cold and creamy, and would be healthier for me than the ice cream that I love to eat in the summertime. This is the delicious and easy smoothie recipe that I came up with.
What I love about this recipe is that it uses all frozen fruit, so there is no need to add ice. The frozen fruit also makes the smoothie really thick and creamy. I buy the mango and strawberries already sliced and frozen, which helps to make this recipe very easy.
The only prep that I do ahead of time is freezing the fresh bananas. I just slice them in 1″ pieces, place them in a single layer in a plastic container with lid and freeze them for a few hours. I am not usually a big fan of bananas, but I don’t mind them at all frozen and blended together with all of the other fruits in the smoothie. A good way to get the great nutrition from the banana.

1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
1 Tbs. honey
- Place all of the ingredients into blender.
- Pulse until all of the ingredients are the consistency you would like.
You could also experiment with other frozen fruits and juices to suit your taste.
My husband really likes this smoothie too. But, as much as we both enjoy the refreshing taste, I am sure we will still sneak in a little bit of ice cream this summer! Do you have a favorite smoothie recipe?
