Today I wanted to share with you a fabulous furniture makeover that my sister recently did. She found this wonderful low dresser in a used furniture store that is in my hometown.

The dresser is a good sturdy piece, it just needed a little cosmetic help. My sister decided to paint the piece, and then resell it. Here’s what it looked like when she bought it.
She took off the old hardware, and sanded everything first.
Then with a foam roller, she applied 3 coats of the black paint.
I love how she added the blue paint to the insides of the drawers.
After applying the 3 coats of black paint, she finished with 2 coats of polyurethane for added protection. The dresser legs were spray painted with a silver finish.
The glass knobs she picked out are fabulous!
These are the products that my sister used. (We are not getting compensated by these companies.)
My sister’s adorable puppy wanted to get in on the picture taking too!
I just love how this piece turned out. I think it would be fabulous as a flat screen TV cabinet. What do you think? Do you love how paint can transform a piece of furniture as much as I do?
I’m partying here!
I love your piece. If the legs were sturdy, a lovely cushion of top would work as well. I like your idea of using for a TV stand. I am jealous, I want to find such a piece to re-do for my son’s new house!
Thanks Sharon! It would be great with a cushion on top!
What a versatile piece ready for a flat screen or cushion. You did a great job!
Thanks Joselyn, but the credit needs to go to my sister. She did a great job!
