Essential Oils Travel Carrier from NewtonCustomInteriors.com

Essential oils are wonderful, but not very handy to carry around in your purse.  I needed something that would keep the bottles from rolling around in my purse, and help to keep the glass bottles from breaking.

I found a great answer for this dilemma from Becky who blogs at Patchwork Posse.

I love this essential oils carrier.  It was quick and easy to sew – literally just took minutes to make.  Also, it takes very little fleece fabric, so I could use fleece scraps I had leftover from another project.  Love that!

Here’s Becky’s step-by-step tutorial for this Simple Essential Oils Carrier.

I did end up making a couple of changes to Becky’s pattern.

I cut my fabric 9″ wide x 8″ long, instead of 7″ long.  I liked having the pockets a little deeper.

I also made the pockets 1 1/2″ wide instead of 1″.

After I sewed the four pockets, I cut off the extra fabric with pinking shears.

I had some extra fleece, so I made some extras.

I gave one of the extras to my daughter for her essential oils.  My granddaughter loves to put little toys in the carrier, and calls it her train!  Here’s a picture of the “train”, and I did make Mommy another travel carrier for her oils since her’s was confiscated.

Isn’t it cute?  It’s so handy to have in my purse!

Do you have a way that you like to carry your oils in your purse?

  1. I have a small pocket inside my purse and that is the place where I keep these awesome small bottles.
The problem is that my two little girls found this place and now the oil are spilled all over inside my purse, so I can buy a new one and new essential oils, and keep it somewhere above the furniture.

  2. Awesome Ann! And I didn’t realize you “did” essential oils! I am researching some to order now! Do you have an affiliate link? I have some leftover bath clothes from making Nonna’s Boo Boo hearts- thinking I use those!

  3. This is so smart and cute! I don’t use essential oils (yet) but my sister-in-law sells them and we were just talking about finding or making cases for them. I will definitely share this with her. Found you on the Sew Many Ways linky party. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I am looking at making a some of these for my gym bag. Can you tell me, will the fleece stretch for 15ml bottles, or is this sized strictly for 5ml? Thanks!
