Welcome to another Window Wednesday! Today I am going to share with you a pretty dramatic window treatment before and after that I did for a client. First of all, I want to say that I have done some not-so-spectacular window treatments in the past. We all have. So, when I show before pictures that have not-so-spectacular window treatments in them, I am not trying to be mean, but I do want to show how a different, more flattering, window treatment can change the look of the room.

Here is what my client’s master bedroom looked like when I first saw it.
The valance does nothing to enhance this beautiful arched window and it’s great trim detail.
My client was also ready to get rid of the top down/bottom up shade, so we decided a roman shade was the way to go. The fabric we picked out tied in the wall color and bedding that she already had in the room. Here is a computer rendering of the roman shade, which helped my client easily visualize what the window would look like. We did not end up using the fabric shown in the rendering, but it is similar to the one we did choose.
Finally, here is the after picture of the window. Notice how the inside-mounted roman shade doesn’t cover the window molding the way the original valance did. So much better, and my client was thrilled with the results!
Such a beautiful roman shade and a gorgeous fabric. Thanks for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
Thanks Marty! The fabric really makes it.
